Does my team qualify to join ACT?

    Teams/Groups of two or more can include but are not limited to:

    • Individuals 
    • Neighbourhood associations or block watch groups
    • Community groups, such as environmental or stream keeper groups
    • Religious groups
    • Recreational organizations, clubs or teams (e.g., running group, baseball team, etc.)
    • Non-profits and service organizations
    • School/university/college classes, groups or clubs
    • Groups of your own making (e.g., family, friends, co-workers, etc.)

    Businesses are also encouraged to participate in the program but will not be eligible for prize draws.

    How will applications be selected to join?

    City and RDN Staff will review and respond to all registrations. For 2024, participation will be limited to a maximum of fifteen teams. Successful applicants will be invited to send a representative(s) to participate in the March 23rd kickoff event. 

    Is there a maximum number of participants permitted to join?

    For 2024, participation will be limited to a maximum of fifteen teams. There is no maximum number of participants or members within a group; however, not all group members may be able to attend the kick-off event on March 23, which is limited to 40 participants. Please apply early to ensure a spot. 

    Where the number of group members is greater than the number of prizes available, prizes may be raffled off. 

    How will our team find out we were selected?

    The City of Nanaimo and Regional District of Nanaimo program staff will email the Primary Contact listed on the application form to inform the status of your application by March 1, 2024.
