Cedar Village Active Transportation Network Plan Survey
The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is developing an Active Transportation Network Plan (ATNP) for Cedar Village in RDN Electoral Area A, to enhance active transportation options and strengthen connections to local amenities and services. The plan supports safety and accessibility for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities.
As the next step in active transportation planning for the area, the ATNP builds on the 2009 Electoral Area “A” Active Transportation Plan and the 2013 Cedar Main Street Village Plan. It provides a more detailed assessment of current conditions, priorities and opportunities to support future improvements.
Why It Matters
- Safer Routes - Improve safety for walking, biking and rolling
- Better Connections - Link homes to schools, parks, businesses and services
- Climate Action - Support low-carbon travel and healthy lifestyles
- Funding Opportunities - Position the community for provincial and federal infrastructure grant funding
