The Errington #2 Fire Hall Replacement Project
The Errington Volunteer Fire Department (EVFD), in partnership with the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is planning a multi-phased project with the goal of replacing the Errington #2 Fire Hall. This is in response to the aging facility and the continued growth of the community. Currently, the #2 Fire Hall is a log cabin style design and over 40 years old. The building no longer meets current building or fire code standards. Due to its age and construction style, it is not feasible to upgrade, expand or renovate the building. The EVFD and the RDN have formed an experienced Project Team to facilitate preliminary scoping and budgeting for the project.
The Project Team has awarded initial consulting services to Johnston Davidson Architecture (JDa) and Colliers Project Leaders to assist with the generation of conceptual design deliverables and a Class D Construction Cost Estimate. In this phase, the scope of work and capital cost of the project will be better understood, which will assist with project planning, budgeting and informing future project phases to ensure a successful project.
