RDN Recreation and Parks offers programs and services year round. Here are some current ways to stay active and connected this spring:
- Download the Spring To It Action Cards and play at home.
- Visit a local RDN park or trail that is new to you.
- Hunt for the Golden Shoe and explore the parks and trails in our region, find out more here.
- Youth Week, May 1 to 7. Take part in the free activities on offer.
- The Winter Spring Active Living Guide is available. Register online, by phone or in person.
- Apply for the Grade 5 and Grade 6 Active Pass and receive free drop-in to swims and skates.
- Register to this page and be the first to receive the newest Active Living Guide by email.

Youth are a vital part of each community and contribute meaningful experiences through their participation in a wide variety of programs. Whether it is recreation, arts, civic engagement, drama, dance, sport, volunteerism, or leadership, their contributions help shape our community.(External link)

RDN Free Leaders In Training Parent Info Night
Wednesday, May 1, 6 - 7 p.m. at Oceanside Place Arena, 830 West Island Hwy, Parksville. Aimed at giving youth, along with their parents, and guardians more information about our Summer Leaders in the Training program. This is a chance to meet the Coordinator and get an overview of the program and its requirements. There will be a short presentation, with time for your questions at the end. Free but spots limited, pre-register today.

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament - Arrowsmith Community Recreation Association

RDN Free Pizza and Games Night
Friday, May 3, from 4 - 6 p.m. at Oceanside Place Arena. We will have minute to win it and dice of doom challenges. These games are sure to make you laugh. No skills required, just the willingness to try, and a desire to win prizes. Free but spots limited, pre-register today.
RDN Free Teen Swim
Friday, May 3, from 7 – 9 p.m. at Ravensong Aquatic Centre is for teens only. Inflatables, basketball and diving boards will be open. The hot spots and leisure pool are also available.
Youth Movie Night hosted by Arrowsmith Community Recreation Association
Sunday May 5, 6:15 – 8:45 p.m. at Errington War Memorial Hall, 1390 Errington Road. For youth 11 years+. Free popcorn, candy and a drink. Drop-in for this free event. Movie is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayham. https://arrowsmithrecreation.ca/
