The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) knows how important our local fire departments and volunteers are to our residents. The services they provide our communities are extremely valued and greatly appreciated.
The RDN has been working with the Dashwood Fire Department for the past several years to look at the safety and functionality of their current fire hall.

Hi - I was curious what the square footage of the new firehall will be? Is it much larger than the old firehall?

The new fire hall main floor will be 7,814 sq. ft. of which approximately 4,700 sq. ft. is dedicated to the apparatus bays. The unfinished second floor will provide an additional 3,500 sq. ft. to allow room for growth. The current fire hall has a total square footage of 3,200 sq. ft.
