We are looking for your input!
As we look at how to enhance Errington Community Park and plan for more developed amenities, the Regional District of Nanaimo wants to grow a vision that represents the Errington community well.
Please take the time to review the Public Open House presentation boards in the Document Library and take the survey!
Over the fall of 2017 and the new year of 2018, staff met with key interest groups to gain valuable insight into the design direction for Errington Community Park.
In March 2018, staff reviewed the Concept Diagram with the Parks and Open Space Advisory Committee. The POSAC heard what the Stakeholders had to say and provided input on the design direction for the park.
Staff will compile the ideas and comments from the Open House and online survey into a report along with a finalized Concept Plan. This will provide the POSAC with a full picture of the project's support from the Errington community and desired design for the bike skills and playground areas. Next steps will be established at this meeting.
Consultants were hired to complete a detailed design and costing for the playground area in the park.
Funding for the project, which includes the playground area and the bike park area, has been requested and will be reviewed by the Regional Board.
Preparation of detail design and tender documents.
Pending approval, construction of the improvements will start in Fall 2021. A completion date has not yet been determined.
