We are updating our Liquid Waste Management Plan

The Liquid Waste Management Plan (LWMP) is the RDN's long-range plan to manage wastewater. The LMWP gives the RDN authority determine community-driven solutions to wastewater management goals. The Province of BC approved the current LWMP in 2014. An amendment of the LWMP is underway now.

The RDN LWMP Amendment will:

  • capture significant progress towards goals in the current LWMP.
  • update action items in the LWMP to meet the needs and values of our communities.
  • update the timeline for the secondary treatment upgrade at Nanoose Bay Pollution Control Centre.
  • update the list of wastewater infrastructure projects and their cost estimates.

To learn more about wastewater services, visit the RDN Wastewater Services Home Page.

Public Engagement

The RDN will be seeking feedback from the public on the updates to the LWMP. Public engagement sessions will be announced soon. We plan to offer several virtual engagement opportunities. In-person sessions may be added as opportunities arise.
