FireSmart activities don’t always cost money. Check out these easy and effective Tips while you start your Spring Cleaning!
- Try making sure your gutters are free of debris, clear any material from underneath your deck, and stack your fire wood at least 10 meters away from your home!
- Spring has Sprung! Make sure your lawns are trimmed shorter than 10 centimeters, and create a watering plan to keep them well hydrated!
- Why not take the easy way out this year and try planting a rock garden! Low maintenance, no watering, and the best part is, you’re reducing the flammable fuels around your home!

Upcoming Wildfire Resiliency Projects
The RDN has received funding to complete 7 Community Wildfire Resiliency Plans across the district. CWRPs are used to assess wildfire threat and risk within a community by analyzing the local environment, and by engaging local community stakeholders. The goal is to create a feasible plan to prepare and educate the public on how to keep their communities ready for wildfire! Stay tuned on: Get Involved RDN for more updates on these projects
