One of my favourite pastimes close to home is exploring the tidal pools along the Wall Beach rock shelf. So much interesting marine life to discover and learn about. These pink anemones are just so pretty!

Sadly this Day Lily lived up to it's name and lasted only one day, but what a display.
Looking around the Nanaimo area there is lots of good farm land being used for hay or nothing at all. The black plastic smothers the grass and prepares it for growing crops in the spring.
While we also take part in the traditional green activities, one of our biggest acts of going green is getting our kids out in nature to learn about the abundant flora, fauna, and geology that surrounds them and to foster a love of nature as they will become our future green stewards.
People love to garden in Oceanside area, especially in 2020 as they are staying close to home.
We want to receive images from youth in the RDN who are under 19 years of age. Show us what you love and enjoy about where you live.
