Our RDN Photo Contest closed on August 31 and featured an array of stunning photos. From neighbouring islands and cityscapes to wildlife and people enjoying our great outdoors, participants captured the diversity and beauty of our region. Over 200 photos showcased the best of the RDN and the exceptional photography skills of our residents. From an incredible selection of photos from so many talented individuals, we are pleased to announce the winning photographers and photos:

  • Enjoying Our Great Outdoors: Sunset Paddle in Nanoose by Tracy L.
  • My Hometown: Alone, Shack Island by Gordon P.
  • Going Green: Local Organic Honey by Angie O.
  • Your Region (Youth): Neck Point Park by Finn H.
  • People’s Choice Award: A Chinook’s Lunch by Saffron C.

All category winners will receive a $100 gift card to a local business of their choice. In addition, all photographers were entered into a draw. The winner of the $100 gift card draw prize is David A.

Thank you to all who submitted photos, as well as to those who voted for their favourite images. The RDN hosts the public photo contest every other year so photographers of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to continue taking photos throughout the region.
