The RDN is currently looking for your input on zoning amendment application PL2019-051.

Wembley Road

The Regional District of Nanaimo has received an application from Neil Atchison on behalf of Lot G Holdings Ltd. to amend the Electoral Area G OCP and rezone the subject property in order to allow the subject property to be subdivided into two parcels. Proposed Lot 1 would be approximately 4.0 hectares and proposed Lot 2 would be approximately 5.3 hectares. The owner indicates that it intends to sell the proposed lots and has no plans to develop either parcel at this time.

The subject properties are legally described as Lot G, District Lots 81 and 126, Nanoose District, Plan 49145 Except Part in Plans VIP53112 and VIP70880, is approximately 9.3 hectares in area and is zoned Agriculture 1 Subdivision District B (AG1B) and Rural 1 Subdivision District F (RU1F), pursuant to “Regional District of Nanaimo Land Use and Subdivision Bylaw No. 500, 1987” (Bylaw 500). This application also includes a small portion the parcel legally described as the Remainder of Lot A, District Lots 29, 81, 83, and 126, Nanoose District, Plan 49145, Except Parts in Plans VIP51714, VIP52613, VIP76030, and VIP79051 (Morningstar Golf Course).

The OCP designates the subject property Rural and Wembley Neighbourhood Centre. The property is located west of Ackerman Road and adjacent to the sixth and seventh fairways at Morningstar Golf Course. The property is currently vacant and has received conditional approval from the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) to partially exclude most of proposed Lot 1 from the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR).

    Has a date been set for 3rd reading . Muir

    The proposed amendment bylaws have received 3rd reading. Once the conditions have been competed, the bylaws will be considered for adoption. At this time, the RDN has no estimate of when the bylaw will be considered for adoption.
