Welcome to the Phase One Hub of the Bylaw 2500 Project, the next chapter following the adoption of Regional District of Nanaimo Zoning Bylaw No. 2500, 2024.

The Bylaw 500 Review and Update Project led to the adoption of Zoning Bylaw No. 2500, 2024. With this milestone, the project has been renamed the Bylaw 2500 Project and will continue through two remaining phases:

  • Phase One: Housing and Related Bylaws and Policies
    Focused on housing diversity, affordability, and livability.

  • Phase Two: Addressing Emerging Issues
    Aimed at responding to evolving community needs and ensuring the bylaw remains effective and relevant.

Phase One begins in 2025, this page will be updated with details about the scope, process, and opportunities for public engagement.
