East Wellington and Pleasant Valley Active Transportation Network Plan

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is developing an Active Transportation Network Plan for East Wellington and Pleasant Valley in Electoral Area C to enhance active transportation options and strengthen connections to local amenities and services. The plan supports safety and accessibility for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities.

The plan serves as the first step in advancing active transportation in the area. The plan takes a detailed look at existing conditions and identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure that supports walking, cycling and other active transportation modes.

Why It Matters

  • Safer Routes - Improve safety for walking, biking and rolling
  • Better Connections - Link homes to schools, parks and services
  • Climate Action - Support low-carbon travel and healthy lifestyles
  • Funding Opportunities - Position the community for provincial and federal infrastructure grant funding
