Lions Community Park is a 14-acre park located near Qualicum Bay in Electoral Area H. The park contains the Lions Hall and is connected to the Lighthouse Country Regional Trail.
In recent years, the park has received a number of improvements (such as the new bike park and playground), and the RDN remains committed to continuing enhancements in response to community feedback and requests. Additional improvements are currently underway, including the development of a pump track, installation of a water fountain and upgrades to the infield surfaces for the two baseball diamonds.
Information on project progress, timing and upcoming improvements will continue to be shared. Residents are encouraged to follow updates, learn more about each phase and stay informed about future opportunities to provide input as park improvements continue.

Based on the community input received and design brief a draft master plan will be prepared and posted here for feedback.
Project Funding
Lions Community Park has finished this stage
The master plan may be revised based on further feedback from the community and the Electoral Area H Parks and Open Space Advisory Committee. A cost estimate will be prepared and a funds to proceed with detailed design and construction of the project will be reviewed.
Phase 1 - Detailed Design
Lions Community Park has finished this stage
Spring 2022. Once the project funding is approved by the RDN Board, parks staff will complete detailed design drawings for Phase 1 improvements. This will include a new playground and new washroom building.
Phase 1 - Construction
Lions Community Park has finished this stage
Construction of the new playground and washroom will take place from Fall 2022 to Spring 2023.
Phase 2 Improvements
Lions Community Park has finished this stage
Phase 2 Improvements include a new bike park, new sea cans for storage space, and upgrades to the barn. The bike park construction was completed in spring 2023 and the storage and barn upgrades were completed in summer and fall 2024.
Phase 3 Improvements

2024 - 2025
Phase 3 improvements for Lions Community Park involve upgrades to the ball diamonds. In spring 2024 the concrete seating was removed and new aluminum bleachers were installed. New infields will be installed in 2025.
