2017 - Water Access Inventory
Nanoose Bay Waterfront Access has finished this stage
The RDN completed an inventory of public waterfront access locations in Nanoose Bay. The inventory documented existing shoreline access opportunities located within Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MOTT) road rights-of-way.
2023 - Waterfront Access Evaluation
Nanoose Bay Waterfront Access has finished this stage
The RDN evaluated public waterfront access locations throughout Nanoose Bay to better understand existing shoreline access opportunities and identify priority sites for future projects.
Sites were reviewed based on factors such as shoreline quality, safety, accessibility, connectivity, feasibility, and geographic distribution.
2025 - Board Direction to Proceed
Nanoose Bay Waterfront Access has finished this stage
Following the waterfront access evaluation, public waterfront access sites were identified for future management.
In July 2025, the RDN Board directed staff to pursue the next steps required to advance the project.
