The Parks & Trails Strategy will guide the development and management of RDN’s regional and community parks and trails for the next 10 years. The Strategy will outline what we have, what we want, and how to make it happen.
The Strategy will:
Confirm the vision for the Regional District’s Parks & Trails
Identify priorities for land acquisition
Identify priorities for park and trail improvements
Help build a cohesive and equitable parks and trails system across the region while recognizing the different needs of individual communities
Clarify the core park services of the Regional District’s Recreation and Parks Department
Ensure sustainability of the parks and trails staffing, resources, and operations
Public and stakeholder feedback will be used to understand what people think of existing parks and trails and inform the drafting of a well-supported vision for the future. Feedback from the public and stakeholders will help prioritize the recommendations for the development and management of the regional district’s parks and trails system.
