Meet Chloe, a local young entrepreneur

Chloe, 12, has been expressing herself creatively in SOS programs for several years, and she has now started her own small business. She said SOS programs have introduced her to new things like making body sugar scrubs, creating a collage vision board, and going on fun outings in the community. She’s also made new friends in the process.

Her mom Amy said she initially enrolled Chloe in the SOS Girl Talk program (now the Kids Movement program) to help expand her social circle, since that can be tricky at school. Plus, it was a safe, comfortable place where she could hang out with other girls in her age range. “There’s not a lot of extra curricular activities here if you have any sort of financial limitations,” Amy explained. “It’s one of the few things where she could have these great experiences that I could not provide for her."

Through attending YEAH! Girls (Young Entrepreneurs at Heart) Chloe created Kits for Kids, where she puts together DIY crafts kits for kids aged five to 12. People can check those out on her Instagram page @kitsforkidscrafts
