Cedar Village Active Transportation Network Planning

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is developing an Active Transportation Network Plan (ATNP) for Cedar Village in Electoral Area A (view project area map). The Plan will guide improvements to walking, cycling, and rolling routes to enhance safety, accessibility, and connections to local amenities and services for people of all ages and abilities.

Building on previous plans, including the Electoral Area A Active Transportation Plan (2009) and the Cedar Main Street Village Plan (2013), this work takes a closer look at current conditions and identifies priority improvements for the Cedar Village area.

Public engagement for this project is now complete. Thank you to everyone who contributed feedback to help shape the Plan.

Next steps: Feedback is being used to refine the Plan and identify priority projects before it is presented to the Committee and RDN Board for consideration in summer 2026.

    Cedar Village Active Transportation Network Plan – Draft Plan Review

    The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has prepared a draft Active Transportation Network Plan (ATNP) for Cedar Village in Electoral Area A. The Plan identifies a network of walking, cycling, and rolling improvements intended to improve safety, accessibility, and connections to schools, parks, local services and regional trails.

    This questionnaire focuses on reviewing the draft Cedar Village Active Transportation Network Plan. The feedback received will help confirm overall support, identify priority projects and inform final refinements before the Plan is presented to the RDN Board for consideration.

    Cedar Village Active Transportation Network Plan Survey

    The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is developing an Active Transportation Network Plan (ATNP) for Cedar Village in RDN Electoral Area A, to enhance active transportation options and strengthen connections to local amenities and services. The plan supports safety and accessibility for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities.

    As the next step in active transportation planning for the area, the ATNP builds on the 2009 Electoral Area “A” Active Transportation Plan and the 2013 Cedar Main Street Village Plan. It provides a more detailed assessment of current conditions, priorities and opportunities to support future improvements.
