    Electoral Area F residents are now encouraged to complete the Electoral Area F Governance and Services Study Survey.

    The study is an initiative of the Regional District of Nanaimo and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and is guided by a team of study consultants and a residents’ study committee. Information about services provided to Area F, including how decisions are made and the cost of those services is being provided in an interim study report available online, an overview document mailed to every household, the project website, and 5 open houses. The study committee welcomes residents’ feedback through completing the survey, which has been mailed to every household and is now live online. There are different ways to participate in the survey:

    1. Online

    Sign up today! Once registered, residents can submit their feedback online.

    2. Printed copy

    Printed copies have been mailed to residents and are also available for pick up at each open house.
    Residents can bring their completed surveys to:

    • Meadowood General Store (drop box available)
    • Bradley Centre (drop box available)
    • Coombs Fairgrounds and Events Centre (drop box available)
    • Errington General Store (drop box available)
    • Regional District of Nanaimo Administration Building (front counter)
    • Or to any one of the open houses running until January 2023

    The survey deadline is January 20, 2023.

    Based on the information presented in the Draft Interim Report, community engagement materials will be created, and used by the Study Consultants to identify and understand the community’s interests and concerns related to the Electoral Area F current governance and service framework.

    The Electoral Area F Governance and Services Study Committee held their first meeting on Wednesday May 18, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:30PM at the Bradley Centre.

    At this Inaugural meeting, committee members selected a Chair and Vice Chair, were introduced to the Study Consultants Allan Neilson and Sherry Hurst, in addition to learning about the purpose and process of the Governance and Services Study now underway.     The Regional District of Nanaimo is pleased to announce that it has secured the services of Neilson Strategies Inc. to lead the Electoral Area F Governance and Services Study, working in close collaboration with a Study Committee of Electoral Area F residents. The consulting team of Neilson Strategies Inc. and Leftside Partners Inc. is exceptionally qualified for the project and has completed similar Governance and Services Studies for other several communities throughout BC.

    The Regional District of Nanaimo is extending the deadline of accepting application forms for those interested in being on the Governance and Services Study Committee.
    Applications can now be dropped off in person to the reception desk at the Regional District of Nanaimo Administration Office, submitted by mail, or emailed to areafgss@rdn.bc.ca until Wednesday March 9 at 4:30PM
