    The Regional District of Nanaimo Board is now accepting applications from Electoral Area F residents to form the Electoral Area F Governance and Services Study Committee.

    Applications are being accepted until Wednesday March 2, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.

    On February 8, 2022 the Regional District of Nanaimo Board approved the Electoral Area F Governance and Services Study Terms of Reference and the RDN Electoral Area F Governance and Services Study Committee Terms of Reference.

    On January 13, 2022, Honourable Josie Osborne, Minister of Municipal Affairs, advised Regional District of Nanaimo Chair Brown and Electoral Area F Director Leanne Salter that she has approved a governance and services study for Electoral Area F and funding to support the study will be provided.

    On Nov 3, 2020, the Regional District of Nanaimo Board passed a motion to request that the Province of BC support a Governance and Services Study in Electoral Area F.

  • Governance and Service Study Process

    The Study process includes:

    • A review of the current situation in Electoral Area F.
    • A preliminary report on the current situation in Electoral Area F.
    • Public engagement on the issues in the preliminary report.
    • A final report with realistic options for addressing the issues and concerns heard during the public engagement period, with an outline of next steps for each option.
